About

Me

I am studying applied computer science at the Universität Duisburg Essen. Hopefully I will be finishing it this year with a Diploma (similar to a Master degree... but better ;)).
At the moment I am working in a major insurance company, which enables me to gather some field experience as an developer.

If for some strange reason I have some spare time left, I most likely spent it in cinemas, on road trips with friends or listening to music (= Nickelback, Linkin Park, Everlast, Powerman 5000 and the best band in the world: the Corrs).

Plans for the future: If I ever come to power, I would do everything human possible to bring the Firefly series back.

Weblog History

At first I needed a homepage to represent myself to possible customers. I did a few web design jobs back in the days. Then I wanted a real blog, with articles an lots and lots of visitors. I started to use wordpress. At some point I stopped blogging - like 95% of the people who start blogging - and I made myself a nice little clean page which only purpose was to hold links to my other projects. I was happy till I was told, that it was too clean ("Looks empty."). And then I found tiddlywiki (well not exactly then, but I never used it before). I could easily add all my links, repeatedly requested programs and a few informations about myself at my page, without being concerned with features I never use anyway + (and that's a big plus) one could download the complete page and look at it offline, without an LAMP system - take that you CMS lovers.
After a while I got a little annoyed with the JS popups. In the next version I trashed the tiddlywiki and used static html sites and a little php - didn't need to, but hey if it makes your life easier, why shouldn't you?...yeah i know... no more offline browsing.
Since I am a hypocrite, i used the last providerchange to try out drupal. Well, and here we are now.
